Kanye West Aka “Ye” has ensured massive public reactions with a confession on platform X. In a post that is related to his new track “Cousin”, the rapper said that in his childhood he was involved in sexual acts with a male relative. He stated that he had orally satisfied this cousin up to the age of 14.
His unveiling took place in a new posting accumulation on X (formerly Twitter), the West published on Easter Monday, April 21, accompanied by a music video to the song. The video shows, among other things, a woman with a bare torso and with swastika symbols instead of nipples. West explained that the song was inspired by a cousin who is now sitting a lifelong prison sentence. The song line repeatedly says: “I gave my cousin head” (German: “I blown one of my cousin”), followed by the line: “I Told my cousin not to tell nobody” (“I told my cousin that he shouldn’t say it”).
Public confession on X
Kanye West wrote about the video in a now limited post on X: “This song is called cousin and is about my cousin, who is in prison for life because he killed a pregnant woman – a few years after I told him we would no longer look at dirty magazines.”
The 47-year-old continued to reflect on his childhood and wrote: “Perhaps I thought in my self-related chaos that it was my fault that I had shown him this magazine when he was six and that we afterwards play what we had seen. My father had playboy booklets, but the magazines that I found at the top of my mother were different.” The post ended with the sentence: “My name is Ye and I sucked the tail of my cousin until I was 14. Tweet sent.”
“He did something bad, but I still love him”
How much truth is in the rapper’s statements is uncertain, and little is known about the cousin. In an earlier documentary with Marc Howard, West’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian (44) commented on family history. She explained that the cousin was sentenced to double lifelong imprisonment for a murder he had celebrated at the age of 17.
Kardashian also reported on the reaction of West’s aunt, the mother of the convicted, on his crime: “She said: ‘I am no longer so churned. This simply happens with the children from our neighborhood.’ There is no other choice. “
In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel in 2018, Kanye West spoke about his cousin and, despite his crime, emphasized his family connection: “My cousin sits because of murder and I love him. He did something bad, but I still love him.”
Bianca Censori reacts to the unveiling of her husband
Shortly after the posting, West’s ex Bianca Censori publicly commented on the statements. In a statement on X, the 30-year-old described how she shaked the unveiling, although she took understanding for her husband: “As someone who is very close to Kanye West, his latest post tore me inside. I admire his courage to talk about such deep, painful truths-truths that parents might help to protect their children better. But some wounds should heal in private.”
She added: “Not every scar has to be shown in the world. Yes, Kanye had a difficult childhood, and it hurts to know that he carried this pain around with him for so long. But I wish he had kept this an issue.” And in conclusion: “Not out of shame, but for protection. For himself and his family. Shaved pain can be powerful – but not every secret belongs to the public.” She explained that she was still working on all of this.
