Kalle Rovanperä has fallen ill. The Finnish driver told about the setback in his Instagram stories and on his X account Finnish time late Thursday.
– Unfortunately, I got sick last night, so I have to rest today. I have to miss training between the first race and the first race, but hopefully I will be ready for the rest of the weekend, Rovanperä wrote on Instagram local time early Friday morning.
Rovanperä drives the Oceania formula series, which still has one race weekend left, i.e. three races.
Finnish time on Friday evening, time trials and the first race are on the program. The competition has been postponed from the previous weekend, as it could not be run at the original time due to the weather.
Finnish time early on Saturday is the second race of the weekend. After the Oceania formula series, Rovanperä will focus on Japanese Super Formulas.
The rally champion’s career in the Oceania series has started promisingly. Last weekend, Rovanperä was in third, fifth and seventh place.
