On Sunday, two stumbling top clubs were deployed in the 2nd Bundesliga. Both were able to win, one benefited from an early majority.
Before the match day, Kaiserslautern (six) and Düsseldorf (four) had fewer points than hoped for in the 2nd Bundesliga. But on Sunday both teams were able to win a win. Kaiserslautern in Fürth benefited from the earliest dismissal of the second division history and Düsseldorf from nerve-wracking Münsterans. In parallel, surprise team Elversberg prevented a defeat against Dresden in added time.
After the fastest dismissal in the history of the 2nd Bundesliga, SpVgg Greuther Fürth lost to 1. FC Kaiserslautern. Despite more than 90 minutes outnumbered, the Franks kept up well, but in the end there were clearly 0: 3 (0: 1). Naatan Skyttä put the guests in the lead in the 33rd minute, Ivan Prtajin increased in the second half with a double pack (58./64.).
After the kick-off, only 27 seconds were played until Fürth defender Noah König saw the red card for an emergency brake. In the past, no player had been put off the pitch according to league. König had hit Kaiserslautern’s Faride Alidou with his foot from behind, but only saw the striker walked up late. The video assistant did not intervene in the decision of the referee.
Fortuna Düsseldorf continued the upward trend. The team of coach Daniel Thioune prevailed 2-1 (0: 1) on Sunday thanks to an increase in performance in the second half of Prussia Münster and celebrated the second win of the season.
Cedric Itten (64th) and Florent Muslija (72nd, arithmetic) turned the game within eight minutes in favor of the Düsseldorfers, who had last booked the first points with a success at SC Paderborn (2: 1) and a goalless draw against Karlsruhe SC. Due to the victory, the Fortuna now has seven points in the account, as well as Münster, which despite Simon Scherder’s hit (19th) suffered a damper after two wins in a row.
The SV Elversberg missed the leap to the top of the table on the fifth matchday of the 2nd Bundesliga. In a lively game, the Saarlanders saved a 2: 2 (1: 2) against Dynamo Dresden after lack of concentration. Before the late compensation by Younes Ebnoutalib (90.+2), the promoted team had explained the mistakes of the superior hosts.
Thanks to a strong performance by goalkeeper Tim Schreiber and the gates of Christoph Daferner (3rd) and Jakob Lemmer (39th), the Saxons were again away – again. Despite a large number of opportunities, Elversberg was initially only successful in the interim compensation through Ebnoutalib (9th).
