Kai Havertz gets an unfortunate start to the new season. Now he has decided to take a step – on special advice.
National player Kai Havertz was operated on on Thursday. This was confirmed by his club FC Arsenal. According to the association, the operation was successful. The club continued that specialists had gotten to the procedure.
The attacker was still used for 30 minutes at the Premier League start against Manchester United (1-0). He already missed the subsequent 5: 0 against Leeds United due to injury.
Havertz had already lacked a long time in the second half of the past season due to injury – at the time because of an operation on the knee tendon. He played his last international match in November 2024 against Hungary. He was also not there at the Nations League final.
And the 26-year-old of the DFB team is also not available in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers. DFB sports director Rudi Völler had already explained at the beginning of the week: “He will certainly not pack it, he has a knee injury.” National coach Julian Nagelsmann had not already nominated Havertz for the games as a precaution.
