Juventus’ Vlahovic sentenced to closure at Atalanta stands for racist chants

Atalanta, one of the Italian First Football League (Serie A) teams, was banned from the stands for one match due to the racist chants of the guest team’s Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic in their last Juventus match.

In the statement made by Serie A Management, sports judge Gerardo Matrandrea, who oversees sports criminal matters, announced his decision regarding the tribune events in the Atalanta-Juventus match played in the 34th week and ended with the guest team’s 2-0 superiority.

Due to humiliating, racist and discriminatory chants against Juventus’ Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic from the northern backyard stand where Atalanta supporters were located, this tribune was banned for one match.

It was reflected in the press that the host fans shouted “You are a gypsy” to Vlahovic throughout the match and created the agenda.

In the said match, Juventus defeated Atalanta 2-0 with goals from Samuel Iling Junior in the 56th minute and Vlahovic in the 90+8th minute.
