Juventus have gone eight games in a row without a win in all competitions, losing each of their last three and failing to score in their last four. This terrible outcome now has consequences for coach Igor Tudor: On Monday afternoon, the club announced its separation from the 47-year-old.
Tudor took over the Bianconeri at the end of March and replaced Thiago Motta after 42 games in office. For him, it’s over after 24 games with an average points score of 1.58. At Motta the average was 1.67 points. Under Tudor’s leadership, Juve secured fourth place in the final spurt of last season and thus into the Champions League. After his arrival, he improved the team by one rank. This season, the Turin team slipped to eighth place after losing 1-0 at Lazio last Sunday. In Europe’s top leagues, Juve is one of five teams that have failed to win their last eight games.
The contract with Tudor was only extended until 2027 in mid-June after successful qualification for the premier class – with the option of another year. For the time being, reserve coach Massimo Brambilla is stepping in on an interim basis and will look after the team in the duel with Udinese Calcio on Wednesday (6:30 p.m.). Most recently, former BVB coach Edin Terzic and ex-Fiorentina coach Raffaele Palladino, who is also without a club, were considered possible candidates in the event of a Tudor separation.
