Juve, Chiesa and the pact on the future: short contract renewal or goodbye in 2024

The tip towards confirmation, unless super last minute offers: the technical director is already working for the future

Clear agreements and (more or less) long friendship: renewal or assignment. Juventus and Federico Chiesa on the one hand are following the last six days of the transfer market carefully, but on the other they are starting to think about the future. An indispensable last minute offer cannot be ruled out a priori in the times of Saudi Arabia and the domino effect that petrodollars can unleash. But at the moment, both the Juventus managers and the entourage of the blue attacker consider the number 7’s permanence in Massimiliano Allegri’s court more probable. An indirect confirmation emerges from the recent contacts between the Lady and the entourage of the European champion. The manager Cristiano Giuntoli, in excellent relations with the representatives of Fede, has received an important promise: Chiesa will not leave Juventus on a free transfer in the coming years. If he is goodbye (the contract expires in 2025), it will not be free. It’s just a starting point, but it’s anything but a detail because it allows Juventus and Chiesa to plan their next moves with greater serenity

reasoning

It is no mystery that Chiesa ended the last championship hoping to try a new experience at the top and that Juventus, faced with a proposal of at least 40-45 million, would sacrifice it in the name of the budget. The offer, however, is not there yet and at this point it is not certain that it will appear by next Friday. Should it arrive in the last few days, it will be evaluated. But otherwise, Juventus will enjoy the rediscovered Chiesa, who already scored in Udine’s debut, and will postpone the matter to the end of the championship. Two ideas on the table: a “short” renewal or a rich summer sale, perhaps as early as June 30, 2024. Almost everything will depend on Chiesa’s season, back from two complicated championships due to the serious ligament injury (January 2022) . But there are many – Allegri above all – who bet on a great vintage of Faith. «Chiesa is a striker who scores 14-16 goals», guaranteed the coach in recent days, after the goal of the son of art against Udinese.

Extension or goodbye

At Continassa they want to avoid the risk of losing Chiesa to zero in 2025, but also of having to sell it off in twelve months (summer 2024). A real, i.e. long-term, extension is complicated since Juventus’ mission will remain to lower costs and Federico, like any player in the world, will try to improve his status (he currently earns 5 million). On the other hand, the path of the “renewal-bridge” is more feasible, along the lines of the annual which in recent months has extended the marriage with Adrien Rabiot by twelve months. A compromise which, for various reasons, could be convenient for both Chiesa and the Juventus club. Juventus could handle the advances for their number 7 with more serenity – and greater strength – but Federico would be far from armored and, faced with an attractive offer from a big foreign player, he would be satisfied.
