Juve, and the probable lineup for Inter: Yildiz against Chiesa up front

The Turk is more skilled at playing centrally, but also at covering with greater attention on the opponent’s first construction. With the blue more tears and breakthroughs on the flank

Giovanni Albanese

With Chiesa’s total availability, the battle in attack between Juve’s number 7 and Yildiz returns to take center stage. A complex and not at all obvious choice, even if the hierarchies on paper are quite defined. In fact, Chiesa is the starter, the Turk is the first reserve who – since he found the field with continuity – has reassembled the pairs available to Allegri. In support of Vlahovic, Milik was chosen on the last occasion: nothing experimental but it didn’t go well, given the Pole’s expulsion after just 18 minutes of the match against Empoli. He will not be there at San Siro against Inter due to disqualification, while Chiesa and Yildiz will try to compete for a starting shirt until the last training session.

THE RETURN OF THE CHURCH

Chiesa’s prices are on the rise: he has been training with his teammates since Tuesday and, after missing the matches in Lecce and Empoli due to slight swelling in his operated knee, he seems to have returned to his levels. The attacker’s shortcomings could be decisive during the match, which is expected to be quite tight for a good part of the match: Allegri could choose Chiesa himself to try to put the Nerazzurri rearguard in difficulty on the restart. The only thing to be verified is how many minutes he could help out, considering that the player has been missing from the field since January 16th (33 minutes against Sassuolo) and has not started since last January 4th (in the Italian Cup against Salernitana).

YILDIZ SOLUTION

The one who is doing well, and has shown that he can mix things up even by coming off the bench (as on the last occasion with Empoli) is Yildiz, who perhaps – due to his characteristics more of a second striker, unlike Chiesa who seeks more l outside the pitch – in the last period he also allowed Vlahovic to express himself more effectively in front of goal. The Turk is more skilled at playing centrally, but also at covering with greater attention on the opponent’s first construction: the work without the ball that Allegri could ask of his second striker against Inter, Yildiz has already done on some recent occasions with good results. However, it is unlikely that the coach will take away certainties from the team in such an important match: Chiesa and Yildiz could also coexist in the same formation by his own admission, but Juve are expressing themselves too well at the moment with the 3-5-2 and this is why Max doesn’t want to change.
