At Ain and Juventus they challenge each other for the first time in an official game. It is also the first direct clash between teams of the United Arab Emirates and Italy. The only precedent (unofficial) between these two teams is dated January 5, 2003: in a friendly friendly to Abu Dhabi, the then training coached by Marcello Lippi is defeated 1-0, thanks to Omar’s goal in the 7th minute. The Al Ain participated twice in the previous edition of the Club World Cup, also losing a final (in 2018) against Real Madrid. For Juve, however, it is the debut in this competition: previously the intercontinental cup had played three times, winning the editions of 1985 (against Argentinos Juniors) and 1996 (against River Plate).
