Juulhalko is an easy and attractive pastry

Jouluhalko is a French Christmas pastry that got its name from its appearance resembling a tree trunk.

Christmas cookies taste good on the coffee table.

Christmas halko is made in a chocolate wrapped tart base and filled with orange-flavored curd. The flavor pair is perfect for the Christmas coffee table.

Christmas tree

4 eggs

1.5 dl of sugar

1.5 dl wheat flour

2 tablespoons of dark cocoa powder

1 teaspoon of baking powder

Filling:

2 dl whipping cream

200 g of orange-flavored curd

For decoration:

cocoa powder

1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.

2. Beat room temperature eggs and sugar into a fluffy foam.

3. Combine the dry ingredients together and carefully Sift them into the egg-sugar foam. Carefully turn the dough with a rolling pin until it is flat.

4. Pour the dough onto the baking sheet on the baking paper.

5. Bake at 200 degrees for about eight minutes.

6. Unfold the baked wrapped tart base on the sugared baking paper and carefully remove the baking paper. Let the base cool.

7. Whip the cream until frothy and mix in the orange curd.

8. Spread half of the filling evenly on the wrapped tart base and roll the wrapped tart into a roll using baking paper.

9. Cut off small pieces from the ends and place them as twigs on the sides of the roll.

10. Spread the rest of the curd on top of the Christmas halo. Make curved patterns on the surface with a fork and finally Sieve cocoa powder on top.
