Just patience: On this day the Christmas show starts at Intratuin (video)

Also such a fancy Christmas songs, flickering lights, fresh pine scent, warm slippers and shiny Christmas balls? Then visit the Christmas show of Tuincentrum Intratuin in Zoetermeer. Grabbing on the tiny houses in the Christmas village, make a selfie in a ski lift and rise with a magic wand on the dancing candles of Harry Potter.

Since the summer, dozens of Intratuin employees have been busy creating a fantastic Christmas show. Every year it gets bigger and opt for a different theme. This year you will discover fairy tale characters, country, Paris romance and lots of lights. The Christmas show starts on Saturday, October 4.

All lights

Assistant manager Jean-Paul Smits talks about the preparations for the Christmas show and the new range. “We still have a week until the opening, but a lot has to be done. With about forty people we are working hard this last week to be ready on time.”

In the new collection, the amount of lights and illuminated Christmas balls and snow houses is particularly striking. “People mainly want atmosphere in and around the house,” he says. “That is why you see a complete department with illuminated trees, wreaths, reindeer, snowballs, houses and other Christmas figures in the store. Striking are the iridescent colors, such as this reindeer. Recently we have already sold the first to someone who puts it in the garden.”

Smile!

Special places have been taken into account in the room where people can make a selfie. “Last year there were visitors who picked up the wigs from dolls and thus made selfies. To prevent that, for example, we placed a human -sized grip machine and placed a Paris scene with a bridge and swans. They can shoot photos there.”

Small stories

The showpiece of the Christmas show is the fourteen meter long Christmas village with different landscapes, villages, houses, people, animals and attractions. Employee Styling Sacha Kalkman has made it his life’s work: “I spent three weeks only placing the houses. I have planned my summer vacation around it. The village is bigger than ever. These are all small stories.”
