Just not for Segaert | Focus and WTV

One climb too many. Alec Segaert saw his bonus on the Norwegian Waerenskjold melt away in the third part of the time trial. Before that, the Lendeledenaar had shown himself to be the better time trialist, despite his young age. At the first intermediate point one and a half seconds faster than Leo Hayter, seven seconds faster than Soren Waerenskjold.

But the Norwegian three years older made up for that gap on the climb. In the last kilometers Segaert was unable to nibble enough from the nine seconds behind.

Segaert finishes after 28.8 kilometers in 34’29.74″, and takes silver. Last year Waerenskjold was fourth in Bruges, now he can wear the rainbow jersey.
