Jürgen Klopp will probably extend his contract – until 2026

He actually had a different plan: Jürgen Klopp will probably stay with Liverpool longer than expected. According to a report, the German star coach has extended his contract.

Jürgen Klopp will apparently remain Liverpool FC coach beyond 2024. According to The Athletic, Klopp extended his contract until 2026 on Thursday. So far, however, there has been no official confirmation from the club.

Several media had previously reported that Klopp wanted to start contract talks. Originally, the former Dortmund champion coach had announced his departure for 2024 after nine successful years in Liverpool.

Advisor at the Champions League game

Mike Gordon, President of the American club owner Fenway Sports Group, traveled to the Champions League semi-final first leg against Villarreal (2-0) on Wednesday. The businessman had already negotiated the last contract with Klopp in 2019. Mark Kosicke, the coach’s advisor, was also in the stands during the game against the Spaniards.

Klopp has been the Reds manager since 2015. During this time he has led the club back to the top of Europe. In 2019 he won the Champions League with Liverpool, in 2020 the first championship in 30 years. This year even the historic title four-pack beckons. Liverpool have already won the League Cup, have reached the FA Cup final against Chelsea and coach Thomas Tuchel, and in the Premier League LFC are just a point behind long-time rivals Manchester City.
