The title is no longer to be won for the German team in the Nations League. However, a conciliatory conclusion should succeed against France.
The German national team plays the game for third place in the Nations League on Sunday against France. The DFB selection of national coach Julian Nagelsmann, which was actually desired in Munich, missed the 1-2 semi-final defeat against Portugal. He now demands an increase in performance from his national players.
At the press conference before the game, he warns of France’s opponent: “If they are right in the flow, then they are difficult to play.” For the duel in Stuttgart, he will make some changes in the starting eleven, “but I don’t tell you in detail,” said the national coach.
Read below what the motivation looks like after the Portugal defeat and what midfielder Pascal appeals.
6:53 p.m.-After the Nations League, the much discussed club World Cup stands for some German internationals. In the end, the high load had always played a role. Nagelsmann said: “I think the boys all have the grains to play tomorrow and then start the World Cup. At least I haven’t got any SMS yet.” It looks like it is similar: “My head is not yet at the club World Cup. We have a few days off, then I’ll fly there. My thoughts are in the international match tomorrow.”
6.50 p.m. – The focus is now on the playground Stuttgart. “Basically, I don’t care in which stadium in Germany. But the support here in Stuttgart during the European Championship was already good,” explains Groß.
6.49 p.m.-Nagelsmann joins: “Pascal says it quite well: It is still the German A national team. I think that if I have to motivate and always motivate it, then I have to change the squad. Football is something nice. Nobody has to dig up a field by hand.”
6.48 p.m.-New motivation after the Portugal defeat? Groß thinks that he doesn’t need to motivate himself to play in the DFB dress. “It is still a giant matter for me.”
6.46 p.m. – The next question is aimed at both Nagelsmann and Pascal. The midfielder talks about the European Championship out. “I had the feeling that we had them (Spain, editor’s note). I still have the feeling that we were so close.
Nagelsmann replies: “We already had a crazy dramaturgy against Denmark with the thunderstorm. Against Spain. We do the balance and then get the goal. The rashes of the emotions were already blatant.”
6.42 p.m. – He does not underestimate opponents France: “If they are correct in the flow, then they are difficult to play.” Nagelsmann also commemorates the 2-0 win at the last meeting.
6.40 p.m.-Now he talks about the meaning of the game: “For us as a group, it is about getting a good conclusion. We want to be well prepared. He wants to avoid the pressure of the World Cup qualification,” continues Nagelsmann. Now he and his team spend a personal degree in the Nations League. He wishes all the best to his still co-coach Sandro Wagner, who stands before his last duel before he takes over FC Augsburg as a chief coach.
6:37 p.m. – The first question is aimed directly at the national coach. Will there be changes in the line -up? “We’ll change a little, but I won’t tell you in detail,” said Nagelsmann. Some players already know, others have not yet known, he explains.
6:36 p.m. – Nagelsmann and big have just stepped on the podium. Now the press conference can start.
6.30 p.m. – The start is delayed by a few minutes.
