The rumors of interest from the English Premier League in Julian Brandt recently alarmed Borussia Dortmund fans. BVB sports director Sebastian Kehl reacts clearly.
“It’s not for nothing that we extended Jullian Brandt’s long-term contract until 2026 in April. He is a very important part of our team. That’s why a change is not an issue at all!” Kehl told “Bild”.
The “Mirror” had previously reported, citing exclusive information, that both Dortmund’s Champions League opponents Newcastle United and Arsenal FC had chosen Brandt as a transfer target. There was talk of a duel for the playmaker’s favor.
Brandt’s performance in the direct Champions League duel against BVB last week impressed the Magpies, it was said. Arsenal are said to have had the former Leverkusen player on their radar for a long time. Both clubs are said to be even considering a winter transfer of Brandt.

His feel for dangerous situations on the pitch, coupled with his technical skills and creativity made him a valuable part of our squad,” said Kehl, praising the former Leverkusen player when he extended his contract in the spring.
