Mikkelin Jukurit gets stronger with a Swede Johan Harjuthe club announced on Friday.

The contract is for the rest of the season, but it includes a trial period that lasts until November 7.

Harju, 36, who was without a club in early autumn, played in the Italian HC Pustertal of the ICEHL league last season. The 190-centimeter forward has experience in both the NHL and the KHL. In the 2014-15 season, Harju played 26 matches in the Jokeris with 3+4 points.

– Johan is a very experienced and large center forward who has also played on the wing in his career. It makes him a really versatile player whose strengths are in two-way play, Jukurie’s development manager Mikko Hakkarainen describes in the club’s press release.

Harju is potentially fit to play already in Tuesday’s CHL match, if the paperwork related to the international player transfer is completed by then.
