Joni Hesselgren hit the headlines in the UK. One of the biggest entertainment magazines in the country Mirror and Daily Express wrote about Hesselgren’s cosmetic surgery at the beginning of the year.
The Mirror’s headline is roughly translated into Finnish: “Big Brother star went unrecognizable and blind after extreme Turkish-style facelift”. The Daily Express headline is similar: “Big Brother star left unrecognizable after extreme facelift leaves her blind”
Both articles warn readers of highly graphic footage that may shock. The articles have uncensored pictures of Hesselgren right after the facelift surgery.
Hesselgren previously gave an interview about his surgery to Iltalehti and the same photos were published in the article.
He talks about his extreme experience in interviews. Hesselgren’s vision began to deteriorate a few days after the operation. He had to stretch his eyes open to see in front of him. Hesselgren’s friend Henny Harjusola, who was with him, had to feed, wash and use Hesselgren in the toilet.
Hesselgren ended up having the surgery in honor of his 30th birthday. Hesselgren wanted to make changes, especially to his jawline and cheekbones.
Hesselgren planned to go to Turkey to carry out the procedure, but it was not agreed to do so. Hesselgren therefore headed to South Korea.
