Jong AZ is far too strong for TOP Oss, Jong Ajax experiences a hopeless evening

Jong AZ’s start set the tone for the rest of the match. Mexx Meerdink, who had not yet scored this season, scored the opening goal. He rounded off after a nice pass from Finn Stam: 1-0. Ro-Zangelo Daal doubled that margin within fifteen minutes with a dry slider.

Goalkeeper Mike Havekotte was able to save Meerdink’s header moments later. Lewis Schouten also had the 3-0 on his shoe before half time. He did everything perfectly: the midfielder rounded Havekotte and aimed at the post in front of an empty goal. Kees Smit’s shot went over on the rebound.

All possible hopes of TOP Oss were thrown into the trash can quickly after the break. Jayden Addai, the current top scorer, also scored a goal. He was given too much space by the Brabanders and was able to score easily. Jong AZ then played the match simply and won 3-0. The first victory in a month; the last was against Jong Ajax (5-2).

Jong AZ is in eleventh place in the first division. Another home match is scheduled for Monday against De Graafschap.
