Johnny de Mol puts an end to return to TV: ‘He is waiting for the trial’

Johnny de Mol still puts a line through his return to television. He will not return after the summer as a presenter of HLF8. “He is waiting for more clarity about the process.”

It has now been three months since Johnny de Mol abruptly stopped presenting his talk show HLF8. In addition to the report made by his ex-girlfriend Shima Kaes of aggravated assault and attempted murder, there was suddenly an accusation of abuse. “I can’t take it anymore, it’s driving me crazy,” said the presenter.

Johnny back again?

So far, nothing has changed about the situation. The surprise was therefore great when Hélène Hendriks announced at the beginning of last month that Johnny would return to HLF8 after the summer. “I think there has already been an interrogation and everything.”

Angela de Jong thought it very strange. “It seems to me that nothing has changed since he left. If that trial has been completed or the Public Prosecution Service has made a decision that there will be no prosecution, then it seems to me the moment that you return.”

‘Next year’

Johnny himself gave clarity in mid-June during a video message for Henny Huisman. “Hey dear Henny! I hope to welcome you back to the talk show a few times next year.”

Will he return next year? But what is he going to do with all those refusing guests who don’t want to sit at the table with someone who is accused of aggravated assault? One of them is Emma Wortelboer. Moreover, Johnny can’t do anything about it as a talk show host, according to Angela de Jong and the men of VI.

Stripe through return

Now suddenly the message comes that Johnny will not return in HLF8 for the time being. The new season, which starts on Monday 29 August, will be presented by Hélène Hendriks and Leonie ter Braak. Hélène does Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, while Leonie takes care of Thursday and Friday.

Talpa late The Telegraph know that Johnny de Mol ‘will resume his activities at HLF8 as soon as there is more clarity in the process’.
