The new “John Wick” film, and thus the fifth part of the action series was announced. Keanu Reeves also returns for the role of the title hero, as well as Chad Stahelski. As a result, the main actor and the director will work together again on the adventure.
What is known so far
There are no details of the plot of the new film or for the further cast. However, it can be assumed that the title “John Wick: Chapter 5” could be, according to the model of its predecessors. The producers are also there: Basil Iwanky and Erica Lee inside. Adam Folgelson, chairman of the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, said: “Keanu, Chad, Basil and Erica would not return if they would not have a truly phenomenal and refreshingly new with these characters and this world. We can hardly wait to show the audience where the journey takes us next.”
However, this is not the only comeback that is due for Keanu Reeves. On June 5, the action spin-off “From the World of John Wick: Ballerina” will be released in the cinemas.
“John Wick” as an anime
But there was another Lionsgate announcement: there should be another “John Wick” production as an anime prequel that starts before the first film from 2014. Reeves will not be shown in front of the camera, but will set his figure to music himself. The script for the anime comes from Vanessa Taylor and the direction is to take over Shannon Tindle.
The “John Wick” franchise is about the former contract killer of the same name. After the death of his wife, however, his life is fallen into chaos and driven by revenge, he returns to the world of evil. The series is known for its action scenes with brutal fights and shootings. With every film, John Wick’s story continues to grow, while he has to keep holding himself against his enemies.
