“She was completely unaware of the complaints about her husband.” These are the words of John Maes, Naoual’s lawyer, who had to bury her husband Noureddine Zerrouak (49) in Algeria on Monday. He is the bus driver who drove through the closed level crossing during the tragedy in Buggenhout. While the family is still grieving, they have had to deal with threats in recent days after testimonies about the driver’s alleged reckless driving. “We hope to gain access to that file,” Maes told HLN. “The family also wants answers.”
