“I wanted to live better”
Goodman began to reduce his weight in 2007. He changed his diet, waived alcohol and integrated regular movement in his everyday life. Boxing training and walks with his dogs belonged to the program as well as the switch to a Mediterranean diet. Goodman told People that at some point he realized that it was time to change something. “I wanted to live better,” said the actor. “It sounds cheesy, but it was simply a waste of time. It costs a lot of creative energy to only deal with the question of what you eat next.”
His maximum weight was almost 180 kilograms, as he told David Letterman in 2009 in 2009. Later he joked in an interview with the magazine “Aarp” that he used to simply “stuff everything into his mouth”. The decision to change was made when he could hardly see himself in the mirror.
