John de Mol gets ministers on his roof: ‘538 urinal is not possible!’

John de Mol gets ministers Karien van Gennip and Robbert Dijkgraaf on his roof. They find the urinal at the office of his radio station Radio 538 absolutely no longer possible, they say in Op1.

They thought they would make an attractive appearance at Talpa by calling on the Volkskrant three times for a report about the company culture, but that did not work out quite well. One of the journalists discovered a rather strange urinal in the men’s toilet of Radio 538. There the men pee in Amy Winehouse’s mouth.

Amy urinal

Many people find it disgusting and ministers Karien van Gennip (Social Affairs) and Robbert Dijkgraaf (Education and Culture) agree with this. They responded yesterday in the talk show Op1.

Presenter Nadia Moussaid confronts the ministers about it. “At Talpa, the men’s toilets look like this. This is Amy Winehouse, the singer who passed away, and this is a men’s room. What do you think about this?”

‘So this is not possible’

Karien firmly: “This is not possible. That’s passé. That just shouldn’t be possible anymore. I also think that as a man you should be able to say: ‘Well, that has to be different.’”

Robbert agrees. “If I saw that, I’d really be like, ‘Well, you can’t do that guys.’ Ordinary. That’s my own ehh… We can have a conversation about that. I think it also sends a certain signal.”

Safe environment

According to Robbert, creating a safe environment should be a top priority for companies such as Talpa. “I think the point is that you manage to create a safe environment together. We think it’s very normal that your annual figures are in order and I think you should also create a safe place in a company for all employees in the same way.”

Presenter Dione de Graaff then: “I notice that I am also a bit in the transition from: I don’t like this anymore, this is not nice.”
