If it is up to Wilfred Genee and René van der Gijp, their hit show will move today Inside next summer – during the World Cup – for four weeks to Curaçao. Their argument: that island is closer to Canada, Mexico and the United States, where the football tournament then takes place. The only one who was not enthusiastic was Johan Derksen.

Great island

Wilfred Genee starts in the Today Inside From last night about at Dick Advocaat, who is in the show via a dial -in connection. “What do you think of Curaçao? I have a man here at the table who has a little trouble with that.”

Dick then says: “It would be great if a program of your quality broadcasts the entire World Cup from Curaçao? Then those people get crazy there. It is a great island, with all the trimmings, also for Johan.”

Johan Tack

Johan is anything but lyrical. “Yes, but I know Curaçao and I think it’s a bit of a mess there in Curaçao. I don’t really understand the reason. If there is a World Cup and the Netherlands plays in America, why don’t we take up in the Netherlands but on Curaçao? But I don’t want to work against it.”

Then he tackles: “If you want to go to Curaçao and De Mol wants to finance it, I do join.”

Wilfred: “And you are already ready for six o’clock in the evening!”

Rovers

A few months ago Johan was still extremely critical of Curaçao. “I have nothing to do with Curaçao. I think it’s a robber nest. I never like it there. No, that’s not a joke. No, that’s no joke at all,” he said.

Table guest Wouter de Winther on that: “I don’t like it there either. I really agree with Johan. I think it is also a robbery.”

And Tina Nijkamp: “I don’t either. You are completely leaked by mosquitoes.”

Wrong street

It is also a life -threatening island, Johan noted then. “If you drive a wrong street, they will never see you again.”

Albert Verlinde then: “I just think it’s a shame that you come across all those Dutch celebrities there. That’s why I never look for those kinds of places. Isn’t that tiring? They all lie together. I never understand. All BN people lie on the same beach.”
