Johan Derksen flared in RTL Boulevard: “He does not understand”

Johan Derksen has been flaring considerably in RTL Boulevard because he reacted so insensitively to the abuses at NOS Sport. “So this is also a sentiment that is alive, unfortunately.”

The serious abuses at NOS Sport and the misconduct of figureheads Jack van Gelder and Tom Egbers do not impress everyone. For example, Johan Derksen thinks it is just nagging from the victims in question, including Aïcha Marghadi. “What she experienced as annoying is that she did not make it there in that editorial office,” he sneered.

‘All posturing!’

That Aïcha is a terrible poser, says Johan at the table Inside today. “Well, that’s bad! I find her complaints very serious, because she came with sandwiches and nobody wanted a sandwich. She baked a cake and nobody wanted cake,” he says. “They just thought she was a bad presenter!”

74-year-old Johan thinks it’s all nonsense. “If you can’t do anything, you become a bit of an editorial bitch. (…) He is very frustrated and is now blowing up small things. I think it’s all posturing and de Volkskrant has caused another storm in a teacup, because: geez, what happened there! Well, nothing at all.”

Boulevard critical

These statements by Johan were resolutely rejected yesterday by RTL Boulevard. “The difficult and the worst part is also the striking thing: we all understand it, but there are also a lot of people who don’t understand this. Here is a fragment of Johan Derksen yesterday in VI in which he expresses himself about Aïcha. (…) So this is also a living sentiment, unfortunately.”

Rob Goossens also thinks it is a bad thing. “You have almost a hundred people who have reported and then there are people like Johan Derksen who are like: she just wasn’t good enough. Doesn’t matter, because the stories she tells about bullying she’s encountered have all been confirmed by other people in the editorial office. It’s just wrong.”

Hand over head

Trivializing is not appropriate here, Bridget Maasland agrees. She particularly resents that Aïcha’s request to get Tom Egbers as a mentor was turned down because of his reputation on women.

Bridget: “Then people know internally what is going on and then the hand is held above the head of a presenter.”

Tom will not be seen as a presenter of Studio Sport this weekend, he has decided.
