Bayern star becomes father again-commitment in Kiel questionable

FC Bayern is preparing for the duel against Holstein Kiel. In addition to the long -term injuries, a professional was missing in training – for good reason.
Midfielder João Palhinha from FC Bayern has become a father for the second time. The 29-year-old announced on Instagram on Friday evening. Under a series of pictures with his two children, Palhinha writes: “Welcome, my dear son Francisco Maria! Our life has another new light of such joy and excitement. Love of my life.”
As the “Bild” newspaper reports, the Portuguese international was missing on Friday in the final training of the German record champion before the Bundesliga home game against Holstein Kiel (from 3:30 p.m. in the live ticker at T-Online). Trainer Vincent Kompany had given no information at the press conference in the morning. According to the report, Palhinha flown to his homeland at short notice in order to be there at the birth of the second child.
It remains to be seen whether he will compete against Kiel right from the start. However, the assignment itself should be possible: Palhinha made his way back to Munich on Friday. After the possibly exhausting journey, a place in the starting eleven is rather unlikely. Trainer Kompany is likely to rely on the midfield duo Joshua Kimmich and Aleksandar Pavlović.
Palhinha moved from FC Fulham to Bayern last summer. In the current season he comes to 14 missions. Most recently, he had returned from a muscular injury. Palhinha and his wife Patricia Palhares are said to have separated after five years together in September 2024. With Francisco Maria and João Maria (2), two children emerge from their marriage.
