Even after decades on stage, Jimmy Page does not seem to be able to grasp the enthusiasm of the fans. The guitarist reacted to the LED-Zeppelin documentary so exuberantly.
Jimmy Page overwhelmed
Jimmy Page thanked Instagram for fan reactions on “Becoming Led Zeppelin”. “The feedback is overwhelming and inspiring,” wrote the 81-year-old. He also described feedback and demand as “incredible”. “Thanks to everyone for your enthusiasm,” concluded the musician. Page again posted the trailer for the film about the legendary band.
First LED zepplin film phrase
“Becoming Led Zeppelin” started in the cinemas in early February and also runs in Germany. It is the first time that the band agreed with a cinematic processing of her career. Director Bernard McMahon previously had the four “American Epic” documentaries on the first recordings of roots music in the USA of the 1920s and the effects on music scene and society (2017). He produced the film without a big film studio for support, but in cooperation with the remaining members of the band. So he explains the paths of Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, John Bonham and Robert in the music scene of the 1960s how they met and how they were the largest band in the world a few years later. All stories come from the musicians themselves; John Bonham, who died in 1980, has been represented by public interviews that has not yet been public. Images from the personal archives of LED Zeppelin are also used in the film.
Comprehensive production
The documentation was already announced in 2019, for the 50th anniversary of the foundation of Led Zeppelin. The joy was accordingly great when “Becoming Led Zeppelin” finally celebrated its premiere. In the past producer Allison McGoury, which was also involved in “American Epic”, reflected the long production time: The film team spent five years of scoring and showering on both sides of the Atlantic after rare or unseen photos, videos or music recordings Then prepare them in such a way that they look good 55 years later. Director Bernard McMahon the result: “The authentic sound of the film creates an immersive and rousing experience, as if you were with the band in the concert hall.” With “Rotten Tomatoes”, the public classification is 95 percent. With “Letterboxd” and “IMDB”, the reviews are more mixed, but many point out that an IMAX cinema-to which Jimmy Page also referred again-was a must.
