And the damage? “Glass, glass everywhere,” says Maarten van Zaanen. The jeweler himself was in this business for 44 years, he has retired two years ago. When he heard the news in the early morning, he immediately came to help his successor. He really sympathizes with him.
One big mess
“I am good with the owner, he is a very sweet man. We are going to see how we can rebuild it as quickly as possible. They have not been inside and have not taken anything, but it is one big mess. The blow has been huge and it is splintering on all sides.”
The police are investigating the area and are looking for witnesses and camera images.
