Jesper Lindstrom is back

Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt can fall back on winger Jesper Lindström again in the final stretch of the season.

After a six-week break due to an ankle injury, the Dane was “not entirely free of pain”, but will be back in the squad after his return to team training on Saturday (3:30 p.m. / Sky) against FC Augsburg, said coach Oliver Glasner.

Attackers Randal Kolo Muani and Mario Götze are also available after training breaks during the week. In addition to the long-term injured Kristijan Jakic and Hrvoje Smolcic, Evan Ndicka and Philipp Max are also missing in the home game. Glasner said there is hope for both of them to return on Wednesday (8:45 p.m. / Sky ARD) in the semi-finals of the DFB Cup at VfB Stuttgart.

Eintracht Frankfurt winless without Lindstrom

After eight league games without a win, the turnaround should come against Augsburg. “The game is very important. We drew too many at home even though we were superior,” Glasner said.

He himself did not want to be disturbed. “I’m not hiding,” said the 48-year-old: “Oliver Glasner isn’t a better person because he won the Europa League. And he’s not a worse person because he didn’t win eight league games in a row.”

He has experienced such a dry spell at all of his coaching stations. “But in the end, it was the most successful phase of the last five or six years for everyone. I have the confidence here too.”
