Jeroen Pauw believes that Welmoed Sijtsma and Sam Hagens will get a lot of room this summer on the late evening of NPO 1. “We would have liked to have wanted another month,” he says.
The brand new talk show duo Welmoed Sijtsma and Sam Hagens is now on the road for a week and a half on the late evening of the country’s most watched TV channel: NPO 1. She replaced this summer Bar Laat, which will continue in September when Pauw & De Wit is now presenter Sophie Hilbrand is crushed and has been rubbed.
Jeroen was not allowed
For Jeroen it is disappointing, because he just does not take the fall of the cabinet. According to the presenter, Bar Late asked the NPO at the start of the season if they could continue with broadcasting until the end of June, when the recess starts in political The Hague. “Unfortunately, that was not in the NPO,” he says in De Telegraaf.
Why does the NPO say no to someone like Jeroen Pauw? “They also wanted to give others a chance, which in itself is of course logical. But these are of course exciting days and you want to be there as an interviewer and program.”
Lots of luck
Prior to the first episode of his talk show, Sam said to hope for a cabinet trap. Jeroen: “Our WNL colleagues now have that luck and I grant them, we will soon have broadcasts around the elections and I can already look forward to that.”
The NPO has not yet decided who will get hold of the late evening slot in 2026. If Sam and Welmoed perform well this summer, then Pauw & De Wit could just relegate to their summer replacement.
