Jelena M. (51) from Oss put her boyfriend in his chest in December 2023 and broke his ribs. In the hospital, when she was put out, she kicked another agent on his knee. In the court in Den Bosch, a special story about a special relationship unfolded on Monday. And that in the presence of her friend Jos, because he wants to continue with his Jelena, despite the stabbing.

They want to live together, because they want to continue together. Jelena announced this during the entire session. She no longer wants to look at the past, but to the future. And that is why she didn’t really want to talk about what happened on December 17, 2023 on Monday. “Everyone has something sometimes,” Jelena responded to the domestic violence in her friend’s house in Berghem. “We talked it out and Jos has forgiven me. But the judiciary can’t let it go,” she said.

The woman was rebellious and often angry in court. She occasionally screamed through the room about all the injustice in her life. She often responded to questions from the judges and usually refused to answer questions. That is why the court must mainly do with the file and the images of the stabbing. Jos had no fewer than nine cameras in the house and there is a lot to see and hear. In the court it was shown how Jelena is in her hand in her hand in Jos’s room.

There were struggles to see, a lot of shouts from Jelena and heavy moans from Jos. But it was not clear to see how Jos came to the stab wound of one and a half centimeters in his chest and the broken ribs and all the small wounds on hands and head.

Another in the game?
For hours the two had a fight on that December evening. Jos would have someone else, but exactly how that was, became clear. It was clear that Jelena was angry. The images showed how she addressed Jos Dominant and had little compassion:

Jelena: ‘Next time it is right in your heart’

Jos: ‘I almost get rid of my own’

Jelena: ‘You just got rid of your own. Tidy is neat. ‘

Later: ‘You have to be happy that you are still alive’

Researchers at the Pieter Baan Center have found that Jelena has difficulty keeping her aggression in check and that she thinks she is being rapidly decorated. She is low and has difficulty with authority. The experts therefore think of a personality disorder, but because Jelena did not want to cooperate, that report is not complete. It is clear that it is considered reduced accountable.

“I have been mistreated psychologically for thirty years,” Jelena responded. “I am systematically mistreated and may not see my children for thirty years. This case is being blown up. I am not a monster as the judiciary portraying me. You see, he is still alive,” she said as she pointed to Jos in the room. “And he’s here because we want to continue.”

Officer not impressed
But when the two can continue, it is still very unclear. The public prosecutor was not impressed by the Tirades of Jelena and saw a situation that normally points to femicide. Then there is a crooked relationship between men and women, of which the woman then becomes a victim. But here it is the other way around, the officer noted and the man was the victim. Jos said in the hospital that he had fallen down the stairs, but a stab wound did not fit in the chest.

The officer also saw and heard a dominant and smaller attitude of Jelena on the images. According to her, the stab wound and the broken ribs must have been inflicted that evening and therefore attempted manslaughter. She blamed Jelena that she rags against her boyfriend in such a way. “This could have ended very differently. He can be happy that he is still alive.” And it was not the first time that Jelena stuck a man, it turned out. In 2011 she was already sentenced to twelve months in prison for stabbing a man who stalked her.

The officer explained that she is very concerned about the future of Jelena. “Maybe someone will die later, because Mrs. is not open to help,” she noted. “It is not an option that she will be released untreated again.” That is why the officer not only demanded three years in prison, but also TBS with compulsory treatment.

Jelena and Jos cannot be fooled by this solid requirement. They know for sure that they want to continue together and Jos will continue to visit Jelena every week. Until she is released.

The decision in this case is on June 9.
