Jef (67) regulates funeral as Flanders never saw: “With a lottery he distributed his possessions. The main prize? A car!”

He was a single -man, but not lonely. He collected 140 ties, kept his sweets in a safe, had no TV and played accordion in the retirement home. But Jef Theys (67) from Olen, especially in the last 36 hours of his life, arranged a funeral as Flanders has never seen one: with a lottery that distributed his earthly possessions. “When my fate was called, I had to go forward and there was a white canvas about the prize,” says former colleague Martine.
