Rapper Jay-Z, real name Shawn Corey Carter, is accused of raping a 13-year-old girl in 2000 in a lawsuit filed Sunday, NBC News news. According to the lawsuit, Jay-Z raped the girl together with Sean “Diddy” Combs.
According to the lawsuit, the rape happened after the girl was taken to the MTV Video Music Awards afterparty. The girl had approached different limousine drivers in an attempt to get to the gala or the after party. According to the lawsuit, one of the drivers said he worked for Diddy and that the girl “fit what Diddy was looking for.” The driver invited the girl to the party and told her to come back to the car later.
Arriving with the driver at the party later that evening, the girl was required to sign a document he believed to be a non-disclosure agreement. According to the lawsuit, the party was full of celebrities and drugs.
The girl was offered a drink that made her feel bad, so she went to the room to rest. Shortly after, Diddy and Jay-Z entered the room saying “you’re ready to party,” the suit says.
According to the lawsuit, Jay-Z took off his clothes, held the girl in his arms and raped her while Diddy and an unnamed female celebrity watched next door. After this, Diddy also raped the girl.
After the alleged rape, the girl took off her clothes and left the party, the suit says. He went to a gas station where he called his father.
The lawsuit was originally filed in October, and at the time it named Diddy, who was accused of other sexual crimes, as a defendant. On Sunday, the lawsuit was filed again, and now Jay-Z is also named in it.
The lawyer who filed the lawsuit Tony Buzzbee is also a lawyer in other charges brought against Diddy. Diddy has denied all the allegations against him. Last month, prosecutors said at a court hearing that additional charges may be filed against Diddy.
