Jasper Philipsen won the second stage of the 58th Presidential Cycling Tour of Türkiye



Jasper Philipsen from Alpecin Deceuninck Team won the 166.5 kilometer Kemer-Kalkan stage of the 58th Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey with a time of 4 hours, 13 minutes and 54 seconds. Jasper Philipsen was entitled to wear the Turquoise Jersey as the winner of the General Individual Classification in tomorrow’s Fethiye-Fethiye (Babadağ) stage.


The 166.5 kilometer Kemer-Kalkan stage of the 58th Presidential Turkey Cycling Tour was run. The organization, which started in front of the Kemer Clock Tower with Kemer District Governor Ahmet Solmaz, Kemer Mayor Necati Topaloğlu, Antalya Youth Sports Provincial Director Yavuz Gürhan and Cycling Federation President Emin Müftüoğlu waving the checkered flag, ended in Kalkan.


SPRINT BONUS GATE WAS PASSED AT THE 65.9TH KILOMETER FOR THE GREEN JERSEY SPONSORED BY MOSSO


The known group of five arrived at the Sprint Bonus Gate of the stage. Three athletes pedaled to win the Green Jersey sponsored by Mosso. The first to cross the line was Jacob Reales from Team Artelotto-Isorex. Second place went to Artur Sowinski from Voster ATS Team, and third place went to Lennert Teugels from Bingoal WB Team. The new time difference was given as 3 minutes and 20 seconds. It was observed that the peloton could not maintain the expected pace for this widening time difference. On the contrary, the escape group increased the tempo and increased the average speed to 43 kilometers per hour.


THE BONUS DOOR FOR THE WHITE JERSEY SPONSORED BY SHRMANO IS ALSO GONE BEHIND


At the 93.6th kilometer, the Turkish Beauties Bonus Gate of the stage was passed. The winner of this stage of the fight for the White Jersey, sponsored by Shimano, which gave the swimsuit its name, was Wesley Mol from Bike AID Team. Second place went to Lennert Teugels from Bingoal WB Team, and third place went to Matteo Amella from CorraTec Selle Italia Team.


AND THE LAST BONUS DOOR IS GONE BEHIND


The last premium gate of the stage was passed at the 108th kilometer. Wesley Mol from the Bike AID Team came first in the bonus gate, which awards points in the fourth category under the sponsorship of Turkish Airlines. Lennert Teugels from Bingoal WB Team came second and Matteo Amella from Corratec Selle Italia Team came third. The time difference between the trio in the escape group and the peloton also began to decrease. After crossing the Demre, the speed of the cyclists on the downhill ramp reached up to 80 kilometers. This was noted as another record within the stage.

All eyes will be on the climbing stage of the 58th Presidential Türkiye Cycling Tour, which will be run tomorrow. The TOUR will continue with the 104.1 kilometer Fethiye – Fethiye (Babadağ) stage.
