Big Brother Finland Jasmiina Yildiz, who became known as the winner of the program, said in her Instagram stories that the anterior cruciate ligament of her knee has completely torn.
– With these prospects, Christmas and the New Year will be on the couch while recovering from the surgery, anyway. Where can you buy even a little better luck in life? Yildiz commented in his featured story of the day, which has a picture of a doctor’s waiting room.
Iltalehti reached Yildiz by phone to comment on what happened.
– Such a small accident situation. I just stood up and somehow stepped badly or something, Yildiz describes.
The situation was followed by a nasty pain, which, however, passed.
– I didn’t even go to the doctor right away, Yildiz says.
Yildiz noticed that he had knee pain in the evenings. After a few days, Yildiz finally marched off to see the doctor.
– It came as a bit of a surprise even to myself that it was worse than I thought, Yildiz laughs.
The day after the call, Yildiz is supposed to go to the orthopedist, when it will also become clear how to proceed with the knee.
– They probably have surgery ahead of them. It’s a bit amusing, Yildiz says.
However, there is no life emergency regarding the operation. There is a lot of fluid and swelling in the knee, which must be allowed to settle before surgery.
– But such a small idea is perhaps that it will go to the middle of December just nicely before Christmas. Of course there are saints and others, that there is time to watch, says Yildiz.
Christmas or New Year’s plans at Yildiz will not be renewed because of the situation – there are no such plans.
– If I’ve learned anything, it’s that life can’t be scripted. For the last two years I have had a taste of it in my life. Maybe that’s why this is an amusing situation, when you think that you’ve suffered so much with your own health, and then a physical disability like this.
Yildiz said in March 2024 that he was suffering from cervical cancer. He admits that two years ago he would have reacted differently to the adversity that has happened now.
– Now I’m mostly laughing, because this can’t be real anymore, that it’s such shockingly bad luck, Yildiz laughs.
