Fenerbahçe Beko defeated Partizan 99-87 away in Belgrade in the 12th week of the EuroLeague and achieved its seventh victory of the season. After the match, head coach Saras Jasikevicius evaluated his team’s performance.
Stating that Partizan gave the expected reaction, especially in the third quarter of the match, Jasikevicius said that they lost control in that part:
“We knew Partizan would react in the third quarter. We made simple mistakes in the first 3-4 minutes and completely lost control of the match. We gave Partizan points very easily.”
The Lithuanian coach emphasized that accurate outside shots in the attack pulled Fenerbahçe back into the game:
“Then we took back control of the game with the three-pointers we made. Nico’s two three-pointers in a row were very critical.”
Despite the victory, Jasikevicius also drew attention to the deficiencies in defense:
“We completely lost control in defense and could not adequately respond to the reaction we knew Partizan would show.”
