Heavyweight boxer Jarrell Miller suffered an unusual loss during a professional fight in New York. The American lost his hair in the middle of the duel with Kingsley Ibeh. Ibeh landed several hits in the second round. The hairpiece had partially detached from Miller’s head.
The 37-year-old reacted calmly, tore the hairpiece completely off his head during the break in the round and threw it into the audience. Despite the unusual incident, Miller continued the fight and ultimately secured a points victory. After his success, he rubbed his head while celebrating with a happy dance.
The boxer commented on the incident after the fight with self-irony: “I’m a comedian,” said Miller. “You have to be able to laugh at yourself too.” In the Ring interview he explained the background to his hair loss. He said he lost his real hair just days before the fight after accidentally using a shampoo bottle containing ammonia bleach at his mother’s house. He then called his manager, who got him the temporary hairpiece.
