Norwegian superstar Jarl Magnus Riiber was the combined king at the World Championships, as he won no fewer than four gold medals.

When Riiber was about to ski to the finish line in the last stage of the World Championships, he suddenly stopped, raised his hand to his forehead and started blinking to see where his competitors were.

Then he kept going and skied to an easy win.

The trick caused irritation among competitors.

– I thought it was disrespectful, Julian Schmidt said directly about Riiber’s activities.

– I don’t understand it at all. He doesn’t have to do that, the German continued.

Schimd was sixth in the race. He was a minute and a half behind Riiber. Runner up Jens Lurås Oftebro he was also more than a minute behind the winner, even though Riiber started fooling around.

Even the Norwegians found the trick tasteless. The superstar should not have emphasized his own superiority by embarrassing others.

– It wasn’t necessary, Jörgen Graabak said.

– But if he can ever do it, today was the day, the man continued in a more conciliatory tone.

Riiber claimed that he did not watch his opponents in the final straight.

– When I got to the top of the hill, there was a really beautiful view and a lot of spectators. I just wanted to stop and enjoy.
