Finally, she asks her guest, psychiatrist and trauma specialist Bessel van der Kolk, if he wants to stand in the water with her. By this she means the water that surrounds the interview stage. “So that I can help answer that frequently asked viewer’s question: ‘is this water real and how deep is it actually’?” Van der Kolk and Abbring take off their shoes and stand in the water at the end of the episode.
