What was supposed to be a carefree trip through the Channel for a retired British couple suddenly turned into a hallucinatory scene at sea. As Jane and Alan Kelvey sailed their pleasure yacht past the Isle of Wight, a Russian warship fired several warning shots nearby. “Surrealistic,” the British call it themselves. Moscow insists the yacht came “dangerously close,” but the British deny: “We were absolutely not on a collision course.”
