Jan Meester (95) from Veenhuizen was ready to wave goodbye to the giant sequoia at Koopmansplein, but the municipality makes a blunder

Jan Meester (95) from Veenhuizen was preparing to say goodbye to his beloved giant sequoia. It has grown no less than 22 meters high in forty years. The tree therefore poses a danger: if it blows over, it will cause major damage. That is why Jan has decided that the tree can be placed on Koopmansplein this year.

But when the municipal workers arrive at his house to cut down the tree and take it away, it turns out that everything turns out differently.
