69-year-old Jan de Hoop, former newsreader of RTL Nieuws, is not exactly charmed by Dilan Yesilgöz. As leader of the VVD, she is part of the current formation discussions with Geert Wilders, Pieter Omtzigt and Caroline van der Plas, but according to the presenter, that is a big charade. He has little confidence in it.
Tropical beach

Renze: “You think they are now talking for form?”

Yes, says Jan. “They have to, because the PVV now has 47 seats in the polls and if this goes wrong… It’s not about the left, is it? So they have to. If things go wrong, there will be new elections and there will be nothing left of that party.”
Jan has just returned from Thailand and he has been following everything closely. “I was surprised from a distance, yes.”
