The new VfB home jersey for the 2022/2023 season
The close connection to the city of Stuttgart, the region and all of Württemberg plays an essential role in the new VfB home jersey for the 2022/2023 season. If you look closely, you will see the silhouettes of 24 Stuttgart landmarks that are worked into the breast ring – including the Wilhelma, the Cannstatter Kanne, the market hall, the collegiate church and Solitude Palace. Once slipped on, the feeling of home is palpable – no matter where the fans are loyal to VfB.
details and materials
However, together with outfitter JAKO, not only the proximity to the city of Stuttgart was incorporated into the dress. A love of detail still counts for the material as well. Because what applied to all jerseys last season also applies to the 2022/2023 season. They are manufactured by JAKO in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way with 100 percent recycled polyester.
Highlights of the goalkeeper jerseys in green and orange are pixelated color accents and the label in the collar, which resembles a ticket from the 1991/1992 championship season.
Out now
The new home and goalkeeper jerseys 2022/2023 are now available from VfB and in the JAKO online shop – the home kit is also available in a women’s version with a tailored cut.
“I am pleased that we have developed a jersey together with VfB Stuttgart that combines various design elements with a sense of homeland. The graphic outlines of the sights from Stuttgart and the surrounding area show the special places in the region in which VfB is at home,” says Tobias Röschl, Director of Marketing and Sales at JAKO AG. “By making the jerseys from recycled material, we are also setting an example for resource conservation and sustainability.”
“We are VfB. We are a diverse community, united in the breast ring and closely linked to the city of Stuttgart and an entire region,” says Alexander Wehrle, VfB CEO. “After two years of corona restrictions, we can and want to get closer to the city again, to the fans, to the many people who have VfB in their hearts and always support us – because that’s what makes a traditional club. With the design of our new home jersey, we make this clear symbolically.”
“As the main sponsor, the Mercedes-Benz Bank is going into the eleventh season with solidarity and pride together with VfB Stuttgart. And this bond is visualized with the new home shirt,” says Benedikt Schell, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Bank AG. “The silhouettes of the Mercedes-Benz Arena and the Mercedes-Benz Museum are shown between the VfB coat of arms and the breast ring.”
