Jahn Regensburg: Tobias Werner becomes Managing Director Sport

Comes from Jena

SSV Jahn Regensburg has clarified the successor to Roger Stilz as Managing Director Sport. Former Bundesliga professional Tobias Werner, currently sports director at FC Carl Zeiss Jena, will take over the position of the 45-year-old, who resigned in September, from December 1st.

“After Roger Stilz’s departure, we have had many intensive discussions over the past few weeks with possible candidates for the position of Managing Director Sport at Jahn KG. Tobias Werner left an emphatically positive impression. We are convinced that he is a very good fit for the vacant area of responsibility, particularly due to his personality, cooperation and communication skills and his experience as a player and sporting director,” said the Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Hans Rothammer.

Stilz was criticized in Regensburg after the transfer failure involving Sarpreet Singh, who was loaned out by FC Bayern Munich, and is said to have resigned as a result. Successor Werner now said: “I am very grateful for the trust that SSV Jahn has placed in me. From December 1st, I will approach my new tasks full of energy and enthusiasm, but also with the necessary respect and focus. With courage and in the knowledge of the special features and strengths of SSV Jahn, I would like to achieve the goals I have set and thus make a contribution to the positive development of SSV Jahn”.

Referring to his current club, Werner added: “I am very grateful to FC Carl Zeiss Jena and those responsible for the very intensive time we spent together and the trust that was placed in them. I am also very pleased that we were able to find a constructive solution for my move to SSV Jahn.”
