NAC Breda has every reason for a party on Tuesday evening. The club earns millions from former player Jan Paul van Hecke. The former NAC defender moves from Brighton & Hove Albion to Tottenham Hotspur and that would earn NAC Breda 4.5 million euros.
NAC sold Jan Paul van Hecke years ago, but then agreed that the club would receive a percentage if he was sold again later: 7.5 percent.
Tottenham Hotspur pays according to Voetbal International about sixty million euros for Van Hecke. As a result, not only his current club receives money, but also NAC Breda. In total this would amount to around 4.5 million euros. And that is a record amount for the club.
Record amount
Until now, Nemanja Gudelj was the most expensive outgoing transfer from NAC. The club sold the Serbian midfielder to AZ for 3 million euros in 2013. Van Hecke went from Brabant to Brighton & Hove Albion seven years later for 2.5 million. But now Van Hecke turns out to be the most lucrative transfer in the history of NAC.
