Together with service provider I:CO, the Danish fashion brand for men’s clothing Jack & Jones has started a take-back program for used clothing and shoes.
Since the beginning of August, customers have been able to hand in their discarded clothing and shoes to German Jack & Jones branches, regardless of brand. These are then sorted by hand in the sorting plants of Soex, I:CO’s parent company, and checked for quality and condition, and later prepared for further processing in the fully automated sorting-for-recycling process. The focus is on the longevity of the clothing and shoes to avoid CO2 emissions.
“Jack & Jones is a valuable partner for us. Like us, the brand is already deeply involved with the topics of sustainable materials and manufacturing options, which is why we look forward to an exciting exchange. I’m sure that we can still learn from each other and that we can achieve a lot together,” commented Soex Managing Director Walter J. Thomsen in a statement.
For I:CO, the partnership after Selected Homme/Femme is already the second with a brand from the bestseller group within a month. As a subsidiary of the Soex Group, the company is a globally active, specialized service provider for the collection, sorting, reuse and recycling of used textiles and shoes.
