The Brabant Member of Parliament and candidate Member of Parliament Kevin Nuijten (JA21) was briefly removed from the audience by security during the Debate of the South in Tilburg on Saturday. The reason? Security guards thought he was the so-called ‘vegan streaker’ who appeared on Eva Jinek’s talk show earlier this week.
According to JA21, Nuijten was taken by security guards and arrested. “It quickly became clear in the police van that they had the wrong person,” a party spokesperson said.
Nuijten, who is in 19th place on the national JA21 candidate list, says that he mainly found the situation ‘funny’. “I explained that I am a member of Parliament in Brabant and that they should just google my name,” he says through his party.
While waiting in the police van, he said he had ‘good conversations’ with the officers. After fifteen minutes he was allowed to return to the audience.
