CLean Cities (a European coalition that brings together over 100 NGOs and environmental associations with the aim of zero -emission urban mobility by 2030) has drawn up one ranking of 36 European cities As for mobility in favor of boys and girls. Three indicators considered: the number of school roads, the number of cycle paths in separately and the speed limit.
First in the absolute ranking Paris was classified, followed by Amsterdam, Antwerp, by the Brussels region and Lyon. Unfortunately, no Italian city has entered the top ten. The first Italian is Bologna, 16th, followed by Milan, 23rd, Turin, 24th, Florence, 29th and Rome, 32 °. As for the individual indicators, if we consider school roads, the performance is better: Milan is 2nd absolute, followed by Turin, 4th, and Bologna, 11th, Rome 16th. Florence is basically, because it doesn’t even have a school road.
If we look at speed moderation, we are very worst. It is saved Bologna, who with great success was the first Italian city to experience the limit at 30 km/hand is 18th in the general classification, followed by Florence, 24th and Milan, only 30 °. Still worse Turin and Rome, 31st and 33rd.

Bad also with regard to the cycle paths in the separate seat. Bologna is 15th, while Turin, Florence, Milan and Rome appear from 20th place onwards.
On a general level, Paris, London and Brussels are the cities that have made faster progress in mobility in favor of children. Paris and Helsinki have a network of protected cycle paths equal to half the total of the road networkand Paris also has the limit at 30 km/h valid in 89% of its roads, followed by Brussels and Lyon.
In Italy we therefore remained a lot behind. Yet, as the campaign asks Streets for Kids Promoted by Clean Cities, traffic moderation, and speed near schools should be a priority for the whole community. To protest, and above all to ask for immediate interventions, In the month of May the motorization resumed. Objective, guarantee safety and health to girls and boys. Over 500 appointments in all Europe, a hundred only in Italy.
