Tropical days are coming in Brabant and therefore the chance of this year’s first regional heat wave is high. Certainly Sunday it gets hot in the province. “But whether there is really a heat wave continues to wait,” says meteorologist Donny de Koning of Weerplaza.

In Eindhoven, for example, the mercury up to and including Friday lingers between 24 and 30 degrees, so is now the expectation. But for a heat wave that is not enough. For this there must be five summer days of 25 degrees or more in a row, the temperature of which has to exceed 30 degrees at three days.

Take a chance
“On Saturday and Sunday we seem to get those tropical temperatures of over the age of thirty in Brabant. On Monday there is also such a tropical temperature in the barrel, but then some uncertainty sneaks in the weather,” says the king.

That does not mean that it will not be hot next week. “The summer weather continues, but whether we are going to get temperatures of over 25 degrees after Monday is still a matter of waiting. That is now also difficult to say.”

But the chances of a heat wave are increasing considerably, says the meteorologist. “That is also because it will remain very dry in Brabant in the coming period, which is of course also a bit more south. All important factors,” concludes the meteorologist.
