Iskelmä festivals bring together all of Finland’s brightest artists this weekend in Himos and Pori.

At the Himos festivals, Thursday’s festival day began in a hot atmosphere with the meter showing almost thirty degrees.

The festival gates opened as early as 4 pm, when the most enthusiastic festival-goers were ready to queue. Most of the visitors have visited the festivals several times. The Iskelmä Festival has been held since 2009.

Before the first performer, the Iskelma quiz was organized for the festival people, where the prizes were tickets for the future Iskelma birthdays, which will be held in the autumn. The quiz was hosted by the radio presenter of Iskelmä Hannu Aholaita.

Tickets for the festivities were won by a group of Tupijumit who took part in a quiz from a hotel room located in the festival area. Tupijumi has been staying for several years at a hotel in the festival area. A group of friends had arrived in Himos as early as Wednesday and they plan to celebrate wildly all weekend.

The festivals were started by Bess, who hit the Ram pam pam hit and got the festival people to sing together with their dance music. During the weekend, Juha Tapio, Popeda, Abreu and J. Karjalainen.

At the Himos Midsummer Festival last week, toilet bracelets worth € 17 were added to the titles, entitling them to take a water bath in the festival area. There were also free bajamas. The same arrangements are repeated at Iskelmä festivals.

There is also a Himos tent platform in use, which has been named the Iskelmille Aamuklubi stage. During Midsummer, the capacity of the tent platform was occasionally found to be too low for festival goers, as several festival goers had to queue for a gig at Gettomasa and Teflon Brothers. During the coming weekend, it will be clear whether everyone who wants to can watch the gigs on the Morning Club stage.

The video gives you access to a whopping € 17 water bath.
